Juxtoposition

Juxtaposition can be defined as placing two variable, side by side and their contrast or similarity are shown through comparison. Many creative processes rely on juxtaposition. By juxtaposing two objects or words next to each other, human brain will automatically associate or transfer meaning. Usually ‘turning’ something familiar to something less familiar or vice-versa.

2. Metaphor-Is a figure of speech in which 2 different things are linked by some similarity. Comparison that are obvious are not consider metaphors. Therefore, metaphors occur, when 2 different ideas are being connected in imaginative ways and agreed to be dissimilar at first.

Example: Life is a box of chocolate,you will never know what you will get!

3. Similes - Using as / like

Example: Life is like cooking.It all depends on what you add and how you mix it. Sometimes you follow the recipe and at other times, you’re creative. Life is like amaze in which you try to avoid the exit.

Exercise 1 : Choose the number at below.

Exercise 2 : Create a sentences using the two random words. I have chose numbers 48,56, and 84.

1) Light and wood - The light appears at the wood

2) Fire and spider - The fire burns the spider

3) Oil and mountain - Found some bottles oil near the mountain.

Exercise 3 : Combination of random words

1) Light + Wood = lightwood

2) Fire + Spider : Firespider

3) Oil + Mountain =Oilmountain

Exercise 4 : Combination of two animals.

1) Giraffish = Giraffe + Fish

2) Buttercat = Butterfly + Cat

3) Rabsnake = Rabbit + Snake

Exercise 5 : Write a short statement/poem that described the concept to each picture.

You’re just a cold hypocrite,

Even though you’re sweet,

But at the same time you hurt me,

You melted from time to time,

No matter how much I tried, you still melted away,

I still love you because you freeze my soul.
